Synopsis

Introduction to Digital Pedagogy
The NEP era highlights technology as a key driver of educational reform. Digital pedagogy integrates ICT tools into teaching English literature and language.

The National Education Policy (NEP) era emphasizes technology as a catalyst for educational reform. Digital pedagogy refers to the thoughtful integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) into the teaching and learning of English literature and language. Unlike traditional pedagogy, which relies heavily on textbooks and classroom lectures, digital pedagogy leverages tools such as e-learning platforms, interactive apps, multimedia resources, and AI-driven applications to enhance student engagement and comprehension.

In English studies, this approach allows teachers to move beyond rote learning and instead provide interactive experiences—like virtual storytelling, digital annotation of literary texts, and AI-based writing assistants. Students can explore classic texts alongside multimedia resources (films, podcasts, blogs), enabling multidimensional analysis. Digital pedagogy also fosters inclusivity by offering multilingual platforms that accommodate students from diverse linguistic backgrounds, aligning closely with NEP’s vision of equitable access.
